		<description>Great read and  great advice about &#039;formal&#039; training.  Too many musicians (especially guitarists) tend to try and short cut their way toward &#039;playing&#039; and neglect to learn actual musical concepts.  At the same time, teachers often fall into the trap of teaching the way they were taught and fail to connect to a majority of students on a non-musical level.  Looks like Rick and I both were fortunate enough to have a good combination of both styles.</description>
