I either stumbled on or was directed to many of the recommendations listed in the article and they are beneficial for any genre in my view. Learning favorite songs is especially beneficial as each one is a briefcase full of licks and technique. I spend a lot of time on &quot;Crazy Train&quot; as a training exercise for improving my speed. 

Of course, the pre-requisite to duplicate your favorites is learning scales, pre-requisite to that - some good instruction....</description>
